CNN – Digital Sports Intern

CNN.com seeks an intern to work in Digital Sports team.

The paid internship will be based at CNN’s bureau in central London. The next placement starts on 4th January 2016 and runs for four months.

Interns play an important role in the daily operations of CNN.com. Primary responsibilities include research, fact-checking and providing production and administrative support.

You will participate in editorial meetings and learn how an award-winning online news site operates. Opportunities to write and conduct interviews will be available depending on ability.

Successful candidates will be detail-oriented, digital savvy and have a love for all things web as well as a good nose for a story and strong multimedia skills. Excellent research and writing skills are also required.

This internship is well suited for someone who has recently graduated from a Masters in Online Journalism and is interested in pursuing a career in digital journalism. Some of our past interns have gone on to work or freelance with CNN.

The internship is paid at minimum wage, eight hours a day for a five-day week.

The London School Of Media Make Up – Marketing & Editorial Intern

Editorial and Marketing Internship Responsibilities
– The Marketing and Editorial intern position will be focused on our blog and Makeup Agency.

Editorial Content
– Identify trends within the beauty industry for editorial content
– Create unique imagery for blog content
– Build relationships with PR agencies to source products to feature in editorial content
– Identify bloggers to feature on the blog whose make-up aesthetic is similar to that of the schools
– Brainstorm and put forward creative proposals for blogger content

Makeup Agency
– Build on existing relationships with make-up artists within our Agency
– Identify production companies to build a relationship with to maintain a steady income of freelance jobs for the make-up artists in our Agency
– Assist the Studio Manager with monitoring agency related emails
– Assist the Studio Manager with ensuring that Agency related invoices are documented
– Identifying freelance jobs that would be suitable for the make-up artists in our Agency

General
– Assisting the Studio Manager with ad hoc research and admin tasks
– General assistance for editorial, agency, student queries

Profile
– The ideal candidate will have a passion for all things beauty related, with a focus on beauty writing.

Requirements
– Communicative and enthusiastic about beauty
– Knowledge of Photoshop advantageous
– Ability to work independently to deadlines
– Highly organised and detail orientated
– Good written and communication skills
– Own laptop would be preferable

THE ROLE

Complex Media is offering a number of internships in our new London office. All will involve working closely with the editorial/content team and supporting them in the creation of content. Duties will include, but not be limited to: researching stories (in person, on the telephone, and via the internet); fact-checking; sourcing images (and gifs/vines/video clips); anglicising US content, and working with the CMS. There will also be the opportunity to contribute written and/or visual stories to the site and/or social channels.

YOU

You will have a good understanding of the Complex brand, the subject areas we cover and the core Complex audience.

You will be adept at coming up with editorial ideas, and able to develop existing ideas into fully-realised articles.

Complex Media is looking for a Social Media/Social News intern (or interns) to work in our London office. This is a great opportunity to get involved in the development of Complex Media’s UK operation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in building and engaging with audiences on social media, have an understanding of how news stories can be sourced and best constructed to gain traction on all the key platforms, and be excited by the challenge of growing Complex UK’s social footprint in the UK.

Direct experience of working with Social Media and Social Newsgathering, and passion about and knowledge of the topics that Complex covers—music, culture, style, sports, and sneakers—would be a definite plus.
